Ladi's Story
Ladi

Ladi believes beauty is a gift vested in every face we see around us. It needs to be unveiled and exposed so as you show how diverse, how colorful how variegated the single concept of beauty is when it comes to describing it. Beauty is the essence of love, it is the essence of life. Undiscovered, it deprives its agent of the enjoyment of being loved and adored, adored not in the sense of enhancing selfishness, but in the sense of thanking God for the grace he has bestowed on us.

Appreciation of beauty is often easy, it is easy because its radiance and sparkle are evident and shiny enough to instill delight into the heart, and arouse tender feelings of the observer. Where such attributes are latent they have to be revealed by artful orientation of the countenance. Instinctively, ancient generations of human beings, particularly in the far and Middle East were aware of this fact and were practicing bejeweling themselves with gems and precious stones with the purpose of making themselves presentable to Gods they believed in, when offering their worship and their thanks to them.They use of gems for adoring one’s complexion, there by adding to ones

attractiveness has been common to almost all tribes, communities and societies from the time immemorial.Factors such as culture, including religion, myth and mystery, as well as personal taste determined the choice and urged the invention and production of the kind and form of jewelry people believed would satisfy their desires. Thus insularity of communities led to the invention of different kinds and forms of ornamental object for a common cause-beautification.  This was the more conspicuous between the east and the West taken as two whole divergent communities. Whereas the occident was all for brilliance and radiance the orient put more emphasize on interior with an eye on self adoration in such manner as would benefit worshiping and divine devotion, thus availing itself of a highly diverse treasure and plentiful stock of beautiful and beautifying means.

Ladi, An Americanized Oriental, born in Iran, aware of a fact that a great majority of Americans have little or no time to explore the ornamental and spirit-inspiring wealth of oriental jewelry, gathered together a collection of oriental beauties from India, Turkey, Egypt and their adjacent countries with the objectivity of presenting them to you and to convey the unique styles of Eastern ideas into the modern Western world.
Briefly such ideas compromise; multitudinousness; as suggested by tiny, irregular forms of stones. Diversity and exotic; as suggested by co-mixture of designs variation, projected by dark, varicolored stones. Simple ness; suggesting tranquility and relaxation.
Precious stones and their unique characteristics have always mesmerized Ladi and she takes a pleasure by sharing some of the myth and stories with you through this site. I feel like a kid in a candy store, Ladi says, when surrounded by these beautiful, powerful stones which have been around for thousands and thousands of years..

Ladi is bringing you stones from all over Asia and with a brief introduction, she is hoping you find these beauties as fascinating as she does.

Some of the stones on her website;

Turquoise:  is a stone which has been prized for thousands of years. Using this greenish-blue stone in jewelry started from thousands and thousands of years ago when turquoise came to  Europe through Turkey. Turquoise has been around for many years and was mined more than 6,000 years ago in Sinai. The best turquoise comes from Iran (below you will find some pictures on the mines in Iran). Turquoise represents  Luck, Love, Protection and Healing.  In Iran, turquoise is called “Firozah," which translated means "victory."  Turquoise is Iran's national gemstone.
